Testing of our products is completed to NSF Standards, these are derived from WHO recommendations and typically specify influent contaminate values far higher than is suggested by WHO as safe consumption levels. This is to ensure that our filters are working to a high standard regardless of where they may be used. Our results consistently show that not only is our filtered water at a safe contaminant level, but also that we often far exceed what would be considered minimum safe levels.
Coldstream product testing is carried out by an independent laboratory and their results show our filters to be effective at removing contaminants found in water supplies around the world.
About the innovative manufacturing technology
Did you know that Coldstream, unlike the majority of other manufacturers, uses an innovative manufacturing method for its filters, which is based on high-pressure casting of ceramics?
This technique makes it possible to produce filters with a high-quality structure and carefully selected activated carbon filter media, significantly improving their ability to remove particles and contaminants from water such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, heavy metals and chemicals.
The high-pressure casting process ensures that the filter material, a mixture of ceramic and activated carbon, is compacted in a way that maximizes the filtration surface while maintaining optimal porosity. This allows Coldstream filters to provide excellent filtration performance, long life, and high efficiency in reducing contaminants, while maintaining an acceptable water flow.
This approach differs from more traditional methods of ceramic filter production, where the pressure applied may be less, potentially resulting in less consistent filtration performance. By incorporating cutting-edge technologies and high-quality materials into their manufacturing process, Coldstream ensures that its filters meet the highest standards for water purification.

- These cartridges are cleanable. The rated capacity is 1500 liters using 2 filters, for a duration of 6 months if you filter about 8 liters per day. We recommend having a spare pair on hand. When you install them, mark in your calendar 6 months in advance to replace them.
- We recommend replacing them every 6 months. Activated carbon, once the filters are in use, has an effective lifespan of 6 months. The advantage is that by replacing the cartridges every 6 months, you can always have the same average elimination or strong reduction of contaminants in the water.

- Fluoride: from 89% to 97% of the fluoride removed during 1000 liters depending on the initial concentration.
- Particles: 99.9% reduction in class 1 particles, including microplastics.
- Bacteria: 99.99999% reduction in bacteria and cysts.
- Virus has been tested for Rotavirus removal with >99.99% removal at 3000L*
- Chemicals: 99% reduction in VOCs. Reduction of nitrite and nitrate concentration. Reduction of the concentration of Chlorine.
- Heavy metals: 99.3% reduction in lead, 97.8% in aluminum, 88% in arsenic.
- Pesticides and herbicides: 99.9% reduction in pesticides and herbicides.
- Drugs 85 to 99% elimination of pharmaceuticals.
